Want more info? Comment “MAGIC” below, and I’ll send you the details!

1. Frame Them Mounted Behind Glass
For long-term protection, frame your pastel portraits behind glass using acid-free mats and backing boards. Ensure a gap between the pastel and glass to prevent smudging and protect from dust and pollutants.

2. Use Glassine Paper
Place glassine paper or acid-free tissue over pastel portraits to prevent smudging and protect from dust. Cover the entire artwork for maximum protection.

3. Store Flat
Keep pastel portraits flat in a portfolio, flat file drawer, or sturdy storage box. Ensure storage is large and archival-quality to avoid bending and acid damage.

4. Avoid Heavy Weights
Avoid placing heavy objects on stored pastel portraits to prevent damage. Keep the storage area organized and use dividers for multiple pieces.

5. Store Small Drawings In A Photo Album
Use a photo album with acid-free sleeves for small pastel drawings to keep them flat and protected. This allows for easy viewing and organization without trimming or folding.
