"I could never draw like that…"

If you've ever thought those words while looking at a beautiful animal portrait — this workshop is for you. I promise: that dream is closer than you think.

What You'll Learn

4 days, one sweet little cat portrait, and pastel drawing skills you'll use for a lifetime

✦
How to bring animal eyes to life on paper

Eyes are where the magic happens. I'll show you my technique for creating soulful, lifelike cat eyes from the very first stroke.

✦
How to build realistic fur, layer by layer

No more flat, lifeless drawings. I'll show you how layering creates depth, texture, and true-to-life fur step by step.

✦
Lights, shadows & soft transitions

I'll teach you how to use values, lights and shadows, and soft/hard edges to make your portrait pop off the page and look 3-dimensional.

✦
Color mixing with a limited palette of pastel pencils

You don't need hundreds of different colors. I show you exactly how it is possible to draw a cat with just 10 pastel pencils.

✦
Confidence to draw your own animals next

After this workshop you'll believe in yourself — and have the skills to draw your own beloved pets. I can't wait to see what you create!

✦
The joy of pastel pencils

Discover a creative outlet that is meditative, fun, and deeply rewarding — I fell in love with it 20 years ago and I know you will too.
